After spending hours in trees picking flowers. What do you do with them? You make Tinctures!
It's called the tree of happiness! Mimosa tree is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). It was used for Shen disturbances or extremes of emotion. It is associated with venus, water, and air, as well as love and emotional healing. It is a sedative and rich in antioxidents. It calms the spirit, nourishes your heart cardiovascular and emotional health, lifts the mood and alleviates melancholy, improves circulation, and is mildly anti-inflammatory.
Set down and separate the hairs and green parts, it's OK if you get some green in there but less is better. Since the plant is fresh you'll need more of it than you would if it were dried. Use a sealabled jar that is sterilized and use the ratio of 3:5. 3 parts plant, 5 parts substrate. The substrate can be vinegar, alcohol(40-60%) or glycerin. Glycerin is slightly less effective at pulling out the constituents, but it is gentler on sensitive people and a great option if you are avoiding alcohol all together. 🩷
You fill your jar. Making sure it's the right size😉 and then fill the rest with your substrate. Leave only a tiny bit of air.
Seal it and let it macerate for 3-4 weeks. Don't forget to shake frequently and “burp” it to make sure there is no gas build up. 🩷
Strain through a coffee filter and store in a dropper bottle in the refrigerator. A few drops is all thats needed at a time.
Don't forget to ask your doctor if you are unsure about it or have other issue going on!
Have a Good Night and Happy Casting
